so i was having a conversation with max and daniels, regarding plans that max didn't want to go to. He tried coming up with excuses to not go, but I gave him amazing advice.
YOU DONT NEED EXCUSES TO SAY NO. AND I HATE THAT THOUGHT PROCESS. I used to come up with excuses for everything. For how I feel, for what I want, for who I want to be, but its STUPID. You dont have to explain yourself for anyone, nobody deserves explanation for anything. It pains me to see another person feel the need to give reasons for why they say no, its just such a pain.
And giving excuses to me is a pain, too. Theres this one guy who I kinda hate for all the excuses he gives to say no. JUST SAY NO DONT TELL ME WHY. Let me give you a rundown of what he did: I was inviting all my friends to my birthday party last year, this guy included. I text him about it, and his excuses kept changing. First he was thinking about it, okay, fine. Next was too busy, sure, I accept dude go ahead. Then hes not feeling social, okay i guess even though youre the biggest extrovert i know. then hes TOO SOCIAL? UGH. "I cant go because i dont wanna make too many friends and have to text all of them, it happened at the last birthday party and they all wanted to talk to me after and it was soooo annoying" HELLO? YOU KNOW HALF THEM ALREADY, THE OTHER HALF DONT EVEN CARE??? HE COULD HAVE SAID NO, BUT NO, HE HAD TO HYPE HIMSELF UP WITH "well im too cool so i'll make ALL the friends." he ended up coming anyways. and yes, he got 1 follow after that, that was all.
Moral of the story is, if you wanna give reason to saying no, go ahead, but always say no first. excuses are never necessary, and dont feel obligated to give them. If you want to give a reason, give it, but dont make up a reason. AND DONT CHANGE YOUR REASON EVERY SENTENCE
